Please reach us at reception@k9reccenter.net if you cannot find an answer to your question.
All pets must be up-to-date on their rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccines prior to their reservation. Proof of vaccine administration date or expiration date on veterinary receipt required. We also strongly recommended vaccines and health care such as: Leptospirosis Vaccine, Heartworm Prevention , and Flea & Tick Treatment.
For the safety of your dog & the dogs currently in our care, vaccine exemptions will NOT be accepted.
We interview all dogs that come into the K9 Rec Center. The interview tests your pet's temperament with human handlers and tells us how hands on we can be with your pet. Pet's will receive a walk with our handlers, an attempt to socialize with other dogs (if applicable), and a chance to try out our in-and-out runs. The interview is completely free for up to 5 hours! Please be sure to arrive about 15-20 min before your pet's first visit to complete necessary paperwork for the interview.
You should bring their food, any necessary medication or supplements in their original bottle with the quantity visible, treats if desired, a couple toys, a bed or blanket if you would like, and a t-shirt that smells like you. Please keep in mind that pets can become bored or stressed when alone in the run and may destroy any of the provided objects. Food is recommended to be in individual baggies per serving. More info is provided on our Boarding Page.
Per the AKC, Kennel Cough (also known as canine infectious tracheobronchitis) is a highly contagious respiratory disease. Dogs commonly contract kennel cough at places where large amounts of canines congregate, such as boarding and daycare facilities, dog parks, training groups, and dog shows. Dogs can spread it to one another through airborne droplets, direct contact (e.g., touching noses), or contaminated surfaces (including water/food bowls). It’s highly treatable in most dogs but can be more severe in puppies younger than six months of age and immunocompromised dogs (https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/kennel-cough-symptoms-treatment-and-prevention/)
For the safety of other pets, please do not bring your dog to daycare or boarding if they are showing symptoms of Canine Cough or have any other transmittable illness.
Please bag each meal separately (we can take care of the food that needs to be refrigerated). The K9 Rec Center has kibble available in case of emergencies for $2.50 / meal. We recommend you bring extra kibble in case you cannot make it back by their scheduled pick up date. Please do not put any medications or supplements in the bag. These must come in their original containers.
All pets must be up-to-date on their rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccines. Proof of vaccine administration date or expiration date on veterinary receipt required. Your dog must participate in our social skills assessment Interview, which will decide if your pet is ready to safely socialize with other dogs.
At the K9 Rec, we allow puppies aged up to 6 months to play un-spayed/un-neutered. At 7 months of age all dogs participating in daycare must be spayed or neutered. We do offer solo care for dogs still intact over 6 months of age which would include outside kennel time as well as walks! They will get 4 - 6 hours of individual playtime.
